Brenton delivers strategic vision and tactical execution on cybersecurity, privacy, and risk management matters as he leverages over thirty years of corporate, international, federal, and military leadership. He acts as a customer-focused partner and advisor to enterprises seeking to elevate their IT and security operations and culture.

His experience in regulatory compliance and auditing covers various industry standards and requirements such as NIST, SOX, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, FedRAMP, ISO 27002, and PCI-DSS, among many others. Brenton fosters the development of organization capabilities to deliver solutions that provide value and support profitable growth. He builds and leads teams to create high-performance culture by communicating the vision, setting targets, and demonstrating a commitment to the mission. Brenton is a highly experienced IT Leader who deeply understands strategy, risk, cybersecurity, technology, and transformation roles to enable and protect the business and its customers.

As a CISO, Brenton addresses security risks that threaten the enterprise and its customers. He creates solutions to complex problems through multi-faceted strategies involving applications, architecture, analysis, and awareness training. He seeks innovative opportunities and collaborates with business unit leaders to advance product development and enterprise profitability. With deep experience in cybersecurity matters, Brenton re-engineers processes to reduce risk and maintain business continuity.

He has extensive experience with leading technologies such as cloud services, AI, edge devices, IoT, telecommunications, zero-trust access control, encryption, and managed services. Brenton, a trusted thought leader and boardroom advisor, has led initiatives on zero trust strategy, risk analysis, and identity and access management (IAM). A U.S. Army veteran with decorated combat experience, Brenton served as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot. Afterward, he held notable positions as a program manager for the U.S. Presidential Helicopter and advisor for nuclear power plant cybersecurity.

Brenton graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and is pursuing a Master of Science in IT and Cyber Security from Carnegie Mellon University. Underscoring his commitment to professional development, Brenton achieved Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), and Certified Computer Forensics Examiner credentials. His involvement in professional groups includes the Healthcare-Information Sharing and Analysis Center (H-ISAC), DHS Homeland Security Information Network, and the FBI San Antonio Citizens Academy. Away from the desk, he enjoys cycling and serving his neighbors through the Austin Community Emergency Response Team.
