Brian builds strong IT organizations with a laser focus on operational excellence. His experience drafting technology roadmaps has involved in-depth review of IT governance, infrastructure, and cybersecurity and follow-on execution of projects to strengthen each area. He seizes opportunities for continuous process improvement and coordinated planning on critical applications programs. Brian is comfortable in diverse operating environments – from start-ups to private equity backed to mid-market firms. His industry exposure includes power generation, renewables, oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, education, maritime, and consumer goods and services. Credentialed as a Master Black Belt, he works closely with technology teams, business unit executives, vendors, and other stakeholders in the drive to improved results across the enterprise.
As a CIO, Brian has led large teams on complex implementations and rebuilding situations. His sharp instincts regarding business process improvement complemented his training on Six Sigma, LEAN Sigma, and LEAN methodologies. Brian applies his knowledge and experience to tackle new challenges and to drive organizational change. His work on supply chain initiatives include addressing technology related issues in logistics, manufacturing processes, and production lifecycle management. He works closely with sales, operations, and finance colleagues to establish KPIs and measure results. Brian has also established PMOs to ensure cost effective delivery of key initiatives. Across his career, he has demonstrated strong communication, negotiation, collaboration, and coaching skills. Brian has developed high-performing IT teams based in the US, Europe, APAC, and Central America.
Brian graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Analysis (MIS) from Texas A&M University. He continued his education at the University of Houston Clear Lake where he earned a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis on business technologies. Among several professional honors, Brian won the GE Energy Quality Cup for reducing the commissioning cycle time for a wind turbine from 5 days to less than 1 day using Six Sigma and LEAN methods. Stepping out of his office, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his son.
