Christoph Egel joined Fortium Partners with more than 30 years of senior IT management experience at complex global enterprises. He has worked in Germany, France, and the US and been responsible for enabling the business needs of manufacturing facilities around the globe with contemporary technology solutions. Driving large scale projects and outsourcing initiatives, Christoph has demonstrated business acumen, technology savvy, and a leadership at public and private companies. His multicultural background enables successful collaboration with diverse stakeholders and underscores his steadfast leadership during periods of organizational change. He is known as both pragmatic and visionary, an early adopter of innovation, and a skilled problem solver who is able to execute mission-critical plans.
As a CIO, Christoph has been charged to drive systems change, reduce costs, improve processes, and build a high performing team. As Christoph developed then activated the IT strategy at major multinational companies, he led teams to work on significant PCI compliance, outsourcing contracts, and data transformation projects. He has managed global budgets and resources for manufacturing facilities in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas with sharp attention to service delivery excellence, risk management, and digital transformation. His systems implementation experience is deep as marked by the successful consolidation of 100+ legacy systems into SAP-centric environment. Christoph’s deep knowledge of IT reflects his career progression through various roles in infrastructure, solutions design and delivery, and technical operations. Of note, he has a strong business acumen which has enabled his success leading all aspects of IT integration for M&A especially in the automotive sector.
Christoph received a Universitäts Diplom in Informatik from Technische Universität Darmstadt where his studies focused on computer science and organizational psychology. He continued his leadership development with the Center for Creative Leadership and earned certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt while working in the automotive industry. Bilingual in English and German, Christoph also speaks basic French. He has served on advisory boards for Business Engine and the Center for Business Analytics at Bowling Green State University.
