Jackson

Greg Jackson is a partner in the Mid-Atlantic practice of Fortium Partners. After more than a decade as an Ivy League faculty member and as an expert in research methodology, finance and IT management and policy, Jackson moved to technology administration for two of the nation’s leading research universities. Prior to joining Fortium, Jackson was VP for University Outreach with NBCUniversal, where he improved relationships between the entertainment industry and communities of higher education by developing cooperative networks to implement strategies based on patterns of online use. Before that, he served as VP for policy at EDUCAUSE, the foremost international association for higher education IT, where he managed the D.C. office and its policy staff. Previously, Jackson was VP and CIO at the University of Chicago, responsible for the university's $70 million IT center with a staff of more than 300. He was also director of academic computing at MIT, where he managed the Athena computing environment and associated staff. Jackson served nearly two decades on Stanford and Harvard faculties and has written at length on IT issues as they relate to higher education. He has also co-authored two books, “Who Gets Ahead” and “Regional Diversity.” He holds an S.B. in Engineering and History from MIT and an Ed.D. in Statistics and Research Methods from Harvard.
