Pirkka “Finn” Penttinen joined Fortium Partners as an accomplished IT leader and strategic business partner who deftly navigates change. He presents a global perspective and proven technology experience across manufacturing, industrial, healthcare, utility, and business services sectors. His ability to forge strong internal and external relationships is key to his success at building and untangling disparate operations. Finn’s savvy leadership style and deep IT knowledge helps take an organization to the next level, where new capabilities, services and data are a competitive advantage. His forte is driving digital transformation and complex program management initiatives. Working across Europe, Australia, and the Americas throughout his career, Finn has developed an acute understanding of diverse cultures which is underscored by exposure to complex, global enterprises and economies.

As CIO, Finn has worked closely with all corporate functions to deliver IT solutions that accelerated performance and enhanced their ability to navigate industry change. In partnership with his executive peers, he successfully led technology harmonization projects impacting the areas of the finance, sales, supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, human resources, and shared services. Finn has directed and managed all parts of the IT function including wall-to-wall global SAP/ERPs, CRMs, engineering applications, large volume master data services, infrastructure architecture, cybersecurity, digitalization, portfolio management, and governance. He has managed teams with more than 300 professionals and budgets exceeding US$100 million.

Serving clients of Fortium Partners, Finn has demonstrated an ability to accelerate digital transformation initiatives, advance business strategy, and drive multifaceted technology change and modernization efforts at the enterprise level. He rejuvenated teams to improve collaboration and performance in data analytics, post-sales operations, and software development. Acting for more than two years as an interim Chief Information Officer, Finn was instrumental in design and implementation of a new digital platform for a global consulting firm with a fifty-year history.  He also addressed product development governance, global privacy compliance (GDPR, PIPL), and client confidentiality requirements.

Finn graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oregon and a Master of Science from the University of Tampere, Finland. He now resided permanently in the USA and is fully authorized to work also in the European Union countries. Finn enjoys golfing, house renovations, and spending time reading about a wide variety of topics.
