PartnerCIO
Rob is a Partner in Fortium Partners’ East Region, where he serves healthcare, hospital, and nonprofit organizations. His deep industry knowledge has served as a strong foundation to build IT strategy and champion digital transformation. As a CIO, Rob was responsible for the alignment of applications, technology, and resources as well as protecting the organization’s information infrastructure and defending against cyber-attacks. He created and implemented an enterprise data analytics program focused on hybrid IT and self-service models. Rob built a data team and designed a governance process for on-boarding of data lakes, extracts, ELTs, and user screens to create reusable intellectual property. His frontline participation in the evolution of clinical data, applications, and technologies fostered a comprehensive perspective of how technology will drive clinical innovation.
While leading complex systems upgrades and implementations, Rob has demonstrated his program and project management skills. For instance, he has planned and successfully executed the rollout of new EPIC, Cerner, Allscripts, and eClinicalWorks EHR modules, the launch of a data analytics platform, and the migration of legacy data. He believes in optimizing technology to transform business processes and to develop the information infrastructure. The introduction of new industry standards such as those that cover electronic health records and HIPPA required significant involvement of Rob and his IT team. In each case, he advanced toward the goal and achieved success by aligning the project objective with his own core values – urgency, optimism, efficiency, accountability, and persistence.
Rob graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. Later, he was credentialed as a Project Management Professional. He embraces COBIT® 2019, the most recent evolution of ISACA’s globally recognized and utilized framework for the governance and management of enterprise information and technology that supports enterprise goal achievement. He also aligns practice with the C2M2 model of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. Rob is active in healthcare industry associations and a former member of the Cerner Client Care Council.
