Tom Murray is a Partner in Fortium Partners’ Midwest Region, where he specializes in project rescue and alignment of IT objectives with business strategy.  He has a wealth of knowledge plus hands-on involvement in e-business, compliance, start-up and IT turnaround situations for Fortune 100, mid-sized and small organizations.  With a focus on business critical projects, he has proven leadership experience guiding demanding transitions such as mergers and acquisitions, ERP implementations, data center relocations and systems upgrades.  His industry credentials range from consumer products companies to manufacturing to distribution firms.  He provides a steady hand to organizations undergoing significant transitions.

As a CIO, Tom led the IT organization of ACCO Brands (NYSE:  ACCO) to accomplish a complete systems overhaul and support seven M&A transactions.  As Vice President, Information Services for JC Whitney & Co., a direct marketing business now known as CarParts.com, he led an IT turnaround involving staffing improvements to align strategy and costs.  Early in his career, Tom held management roles at NEC Home Electronics, WW Grainger and Honeywell.

As a consultant, Tom leverages his strong manufacturing and distribution industry knowledge as he advises on how to best manage critical technology during periods of significant change.  His focus is on performance improvement, critical project rescue, and program management.  He has served as interim CIO, assessed technology risks of target companies, counseled on selection of an ERP vendor; fortified compliance activities, and developed IT roadmaps for acquisition integration, among many engagements.

Tom holds CPIM and CIRM credentials from APICS, and is an active member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and a Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School in Chicago.  Committed to his community, Tom has been an elected official for the library and a volunteer in various community organizations.
